Happy 1st Year Birthday My Little Handsome

Between the earth and sky above, nothing can match a 
grand mother's love :) Being a grand mom is like feeling as if you are going to burst with happiness all the time.... it is the joy of my life.




 In many ways it is more fun of becoming a grandma than being a parent. The relationship with my grand child is more relaxed and easier than with my daughters, it is like a second chance for me to correct me which I had missed out with my children.

 When my grandson "Dron" was born, he was so tiny I had forgotten how small a new baby is, a baby we barely knew was suddenly became a part of the family. 

My daughter Ayshu, she seemed so young, I was worried for my girl, was this girl really going to be the mother of my grand child?


 Am I a new grandparent?    Yes, then I have to be 

showering my grandchild with 
clothes, toys, books and other gifts. Of course yes, it is a natural feeling.

AJJAA” adores the little one and we take great pleasure in spending time together with him, in real life of our experience is especially sweet. The affection we shares with our grand child has taught us pure and perfect love.

We grandparents love to celebrate every month's birthday and I am sure when he get bigger, the parties will get grander.That's because he is very special to me.  We grandparents encourage him a lot and more pretend we both play with our child.
         We get involved in our child’s play as much as possible,  we assist him, if  needed.
        Talk,talk and talk name the people, places , objects actions everything, as children get more proficient in use of language.
         Talk about what you are doing and what your child is doing.
         Provide a wide range of real-world, hands on experiences.
        Keep visits to the parks, so the child can use them as a starting point in their play.
        Read books to your kids, whereas T.V movies give all the information, a book allows the child to use their imagination to create these images, and then represent them on drawings, coloring and words will promote their development.
         Let your child to decide what they want to do, it is okay if your child get bored sometimes, this may lead them to some creative ideas that you may not have thought of.

Today when I look back “mum” the small word gives a big meaning for most of us. Most mothers learn as they go with the flow or influenced by the way they were brought up, or by what they have read.
Many women give up a lot to become mothers, her career opportunities, social activities and sense of freedom.
 I am very happy grandma seeing my daughter is no more a girl who used to run behind me.  She is a complete woman now, who is able to take care of her son without my support.


As I watch my daughter interact with her son, I have to consciously remind myself to take a back seat. It’s important to remember that we have to respect their way of raising their kid. It can be hard when they’re doing something differently than I would have.
 I can be there for support if they ask, but it is not my role to interfere!
Today, I have no complaints, God is very kind to me. This little dude is very precious and more adorable child in my life. Me and your grandpa  love you more and more because that's what good grandparents do, we love our  baby unconditionally...

How to Apply Smoky Eye Makeup

1. Prepare the area around the eyes with moisturizer and hidden spots.

2. Apply loose powder under the eye area. This will help control the makeup loose to fall during application. The loose powder can be removed with a brush after application.

3. Using black eye liner, trace the inside upper and lower eye. It always starts from the inside of the eye and work your way out. Use the sponge brush to gently blend the line into the lashes. This will make the lashes appear thicker and soften the line. Blurs  the lines up in a circular motion to create an appearance of smoke rising. Remember, what you want to achieve is that the color gradually disappear.

4. The next step is to apply the black shadow or gray. The powder works well to blend. Use the brush to apply eye shadow starting at the back of the eye and along the line towards the outer eye. Continues   to apply the shadow forming a "V" lateral to the shape of the brow bone. Extend the line of shadow halfway, stopping above the iris. Use very little shade. Want to create smoke, no tar.

5. It also applies the shadow under the eye area. The color should be more concentrated as you move outward. Line merges with the bottom up to create a soft shadow line.

6. The next step is crucial. Merges  in a circular motion outward and upward. This will create the illusion of smoky eyes.

7. The shade of beige or ivory can be applied using a natural hair brush. This type of brush is perfect for light or shadow application. Blend the shadow under the brow bone and inner corner of your eye that you highlight.

I refuse to understand why turning on to 50’s should have a negative impact, on the way you present yourself to the world. I am fascinated by life and opportunities; I grabbed in my right time.  Age has no bar, It is irrelevant to me.

 Ever wondered how women in their 50’s can look as though they are only 30 plus? They have probably had surgery but “ NO “ you don’t have to. Simply change your dressing style that can help you out to shave off your age.

 Dressing up differently can change a person’s appearance tremendously.

At 50-plus you should be putting style before fashion. In fact I would focus my energies solely on style in order to build a wardrobe that’s timeless. You ought to be having fun with clothes. You have one goal and that is to look supremely confident, smart and polished.

There are many age-appropriate garments that look fashionable and work well for mature women. Knowing what kinds of fashion pieces work best for your body type and flatters your figure is an important part of looking good.

How to Give you a Younger Look

While selecting clothes, you need to choose collared or close collared shirts.

You are free to wear any color depending on your complexion Softer shades of any color suits mature ladies.

Loose fit as it is also comfortable cotton pajamas are better replacement to leggings.

 Tee-shirts will no longer look cool and stylish .

Remember sharp contrast like bright colors on dusky or black fabric are young and fashionable but faded colors would make you look like you have an outfit that has been recycled  for decades.

A crispy white shirts essentials to any wardrobe it will give you a dressed up look at any occasion and will flatter any figure.


Think of Marks n Spencer’s and Zara…these clothing lines often have geometrical designs in single shades or contrasting tones. The classic is black on white or the reverse. This combination is an effortless way to stay elegant and vibrant. These dresses usually have clean cutting, and  you able to carry there are more contrast in bold shades like pink on blue, pink on violet, yellow on beige go for it Or trousers on plain colored shirts and you will look young and the trick equally well too.


A knit wear or a blazer works well to give you a younger look in every season even in summer but a cool outerwear instantly upgrades an outfit. Ageing Gracefully!



One wonders whether the phrase "May you live to a ripe old age"  is a blessing or a curse. Old age cannot be avoided. It is a phase of life.

Women live longer than men on average,but  it's no

   secret that age takes its toll. Old age can be 


miserable for many women — even when comparing 


to men and women of the same age.





Old age is feared in recent times , however this is 

not the case in the olden times. In the good old 


days, life was not so complicated and family values  


 were given more importance. 



Hence  the  older generations held 


a very  important position in the family tree and in 


society. The scenario is changing nowadays, the 


senior citizens being considered as burden.


In urban areas, the entire responsibility is on the male child with whom the aging parent resides. Due to the nuclear family system, the aged people tend to feel neglected as all others remain busy with their own schedule.

Many are forced to sell off their property as a  result  of some dispute within the family or for their  children’s career, making them solely dependent on their children latter .After a certain age, their health starts deteriorating and their mental faculities begin to diminish. Sometimes, these people cannot recognize their own family members. In such situations, these people are considered to be burden and are thrown out.

Those who can afford, try to reduce their guilt by sending their old parents to the home for the aged. But seldom do they realize that although their parents or grandparents may get physical care in these institutions, their emotional needs of affection and love by their own near and dear ones remain unfulfilled. What the youngsters of today fail to realize is that they will get old too some day and may have to meet a similar fate, because history is bound to repeat itself and a person reaps what he sows
Healthy Tips
   You don't need to look your age. There is absolutely     no harm in looking and feeling young.
You may be old yet be a teenager at heart. You have the right to enjoy at any age.
Pranayama is particularly important,it improves your health.
Exercising regularly can prevent severe osteoporosis and joint stiffness in aged persons.
Never take any medicines without consulting a doctor, as elderly people usually require milder medicines.
Using a gelatin soap and massaging your skin regularly with some moisturizing oils can reduce wrinkles.
Older people tend to develop dehydration and electrolyte imbalances easily. Hence, drink fruit juices daily.
There is no need to feel shy if you get incontinent. Use adult diapers and stay on the move.
If your memory starts deteriorating with age, maintain a daily diary to remind yourself of the day's plans.
Keep your mind and body active even in your old age. You will automatically live a longer and healthier life.
Go for regular checkups and investigations once you cross 50 years of age. Better safe than sorry!
Express your inner feelings with anyone that you can confide in - a family member, a friend, or a doctor.
Working as per your convenience and at your own pace, preferably part-time, is advisable to keep busy.
With age, the nails tend to get coarse and grow inwards. Take care not to injure yourself when trimming them.
Firm cotton mattresses are recommended for the aged as these usually do not worsen body or joint pains.
The elderly usually feel more cold as compared to others. Hence, they must wear cotton warmers.
Following a regular routine for sleep, meals and bowel movements, can set the body clock even in old age.
Avoid large meals and also avoid performing any major tasks for at least 30 minutes after each meal.
Maintain a healthy body weight. Follow a healthy eating plan that emphasizes fruits, vegetables and low fat dairy foods.
Keep your mind and body active even in your old age. You will automatically live a longer and healthier life.

THE IMPORTANCE HONEY IN YOUR SYSTEM


Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. What it will do is what some call 'turning to sugar'. In reality, honey is always honey. However, when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will crystallize. When this happens loosen the lid, boil some water and sit the honey container in the hot water, but turn off the heat and let it liquefy naturally. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a microwave. This will kill the enzymes in the honey.

Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and Cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most diseases. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world. Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without side effects for any kind of diseases.
Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, when it is taken in the right dosage as a medicine, it does not harm even diabetic patients. Weekly World News, a magazine in Canada, in its issue dated 17 January,1995 has given the following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon, as researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES:


 Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply it on bread instead of jelly and jam and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also, those who have already had an attack, when they do this process daily, they are kept miles away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada, various nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as one ages the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and cinnamon revitalize the arteries and the veins.

ARTHRITIS:


 Arthritis patients may take daily (morning and night) one cup of hot water with two tablespoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. When taken regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon powder before breakfast, they found that within a week (out of the 200 people so treated) practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain -- and within a month, most all the patients who could not walk or move around because of arthritis now started walking without pain. 

BLADDER INFECTIONS: Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder. 

CHOLESTEROL: Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16 ounces of tea water given to a cholesterol patient was found to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As mentioned for arthritic patients, when taken three times a day, any chronic cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal, pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS:


 Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and, clear the sinuses.

UPSET STOMACH:


 Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach ulcers from its root.
GAS: According to the studies done in India and Japan, it is revealed that when Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

IMMUNE SYSTEM:


 Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and protects the body from bacterial and viral attacks. Scientists have found that honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey strengthens the white blood corpuscles (where DNA is contained) to fight bacterial and viral diseases.

INDIGESTION: Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food is eaten relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals

INFLUENZA: 


A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural 'Ingredient' which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu.

LONGEVITY: 


Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the ravages of old age. Use four teaspoons of honey, one teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and three cups of water and boil to make a tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to four times a day. It keeps the skin fresh and soft and arrests old age. Life spans increase and even a 100 year old will start performing the chores of a 20-year-old.

RASPY OR SORE THROAT: When throat has a tickle or is raspy, take one tablespoon of honey and sip until gone. Repeat every three hours until throat is without symptoms.

PIMPLES: Three tablespoons of honey and one teaspoon of cinnamon powder paste. Apply this paste on the pimples before sleeping and wash it off the next morning with warm water. When done daily for two weeks, it removes all pimples from the root.

SKIN INFECTIONS:


Applying honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts on the affected parts cures eczema, ringworm and all types of skin Infections.

WEIGHT LOSS:


Daily in the morning one half hour before
breakfast and on an empty stomach, and at night before sleeping, drink honey and cinnamon powder boiled in one cup of water. When taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

CANCER:


 Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of cinnamon powder three times a day for one month.

FATIGUE: Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts are more alert and flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, even when the vitality of the body starts to decrease, when taken daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M., the vitality of the body increases within a week.

BAD BREATH: 


People of South America, gargle with one teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water first thing in the morning so their breath stays fresh throughout the day.

HEARING LOSS:


 Daily morning and night honey and cinnamon powder, taken in equal parts restores hearing. Remember when we were kids? We had toast with real butter and cinnamon sprinkled on it!

As we approach our late forties ...


The most basic rule you can follow for healthy skin is just to be nice!

 As we approach our late forties we tend to abuse our skin with such things as, excess sun exposure, tanning, pore-clogging makeup, junk food and sleep deprivation.

A  high variety of vegetables, fruits, nuts, and fish, lead to

less wrinkling of the skin with age.


 As we approach our late forties and beyond, our hormone and growth factor levels decrease dramatically, translating to the skin’s self-repair and renewal properties significantly slowing down. With age, skin tends to thin and dry out, in both men and women, though less drastically in men. Excessive inflammation, deepening wrinkles, discolorations and sagging are also increasingly prevalent with age. It’s thus important to remain extremely hydrated, exfoliate regularly, use a daily oil-free moisturizer, and begin to look into wrinkle .


Exfoliation (the getting rid of dead skin cells) is a crucial step in any skin care program. If dead skin cells are not properly removed,  Skin becomes  pale and lifeless, since these cells dull the pink glow of healthy skin. Frequently, wrinkles become noticeable.It is also bad for your health. Cell build-up leads to:
·         dehydration
·         poor oxidation
·         sluggish circulation

Sloughing accelerators - contain various combinations of acids and other exfoliation ingredients which dissolve the intercellular cement which holds the dead cells on the surface together. Once the intercellular cement is dissolved, cells are no longer attached and are easily removed. The two most prominent sloughing accelerators are alpha-hydroxy acids and salicylic acid.
 In top-notch exfoliating cleansers, these acids are combined with plant extracts that add skin-soothing and moisturizing properties. Two tips to keep in mind when using sloughing accelerators:
First, you should use a cleanser that contains both oil and water. The oils, when applied to the skin, heat up to skin temperature and melt the skin's natural sebum, thereby loosening the cells that have become lodged in it. The water phase removes the water-soluble pollutants that had become attached.

Second, you should be careful in your choice of a facecloth or sponge.


 Cosmetic sponges gently aid in dislodging stubborn cells while you wipe off the cleanser. Whichever you use should be washed regularly. It's more usual to boil a cosmetic sponge than a facecloth, but this is the surest way to destroy any bacteria growing in the moist environment they provide.
Mechanical exfoliants physically remove the cells from the surface of the skin. Mechanical exfolients not only aid in sloughing unwanted cells, they refine the texture of the skin and stimulate cell renewal. They further benefit the skin by leaving it ideally prepared for subsequent caring or intensive treatments. The two most common types of mechanical exfolients are scrubs and peels. One caution when using mechanical exfolients - be sure to avoid the delicate, easily-damaged mouth and eye areas.
                                                                                
Continuing to capture youthful glow and vitality in your skin takes time and planning. But any effective program will start with the importance of good cleansing. Regular clearing away of excess debris and buildup on the surface of the skin (through exfoliation) encourages new cell regeneration, improves the health of the skin, and starts it on the path to becoming smooth and soft.


While some things are unavoidable, here are some 

simple things you can change in your daily life that

will have a drastic impact on your skin’s health!



Your Diet   
     
·         Mono-unsaturated fat
·         Olive oil and olives
·         Fish (especially fatty fish, such as sardines)
·         Reduced fat milk and milk products, such as yogurt
·         Eggs
·         Nuts and legumes (especially lima and broad beans)
·         Vegetables (especially leafy greens, spinach, eggplant, asparagus, celery, onions, leeks and garlic)
·         Wholegrain cereals
·         Fruit and fruit products (especially prunes, cherries, apples and jams)
·         Tea
·         Water
·         Zinc (foods which contain zinc include seafood, lean meat, milk and nuts)
Foods that seem to exacerbate wrinkling in the aged included:
·         Saturated fat
·         Meat (especially fatty processed meats)
·         Full fat dairy products
·         Cakes, pastries and desserts
·         Potatoes
·         Butter
·         Margarine·          

Applying a Applying moisturizer after a warm face wash or shower is one of the best things you can do to restore radiant complexion. There are plenty of moisturizers on the market, so just find the one that fits your skin type! Just be sure to always use an oil-free or essential oil-based moisturizer, particularly on the face, to prevent greasy skin and breakouts.

 Cleansing your face daily, in the morning, and again before bed, clears your face of any accumulated dirt and dust. Nighttime is when your skin rejuvenates itself, so cleansing before bed is a crucial part of a healthy skin care regime to avoid congestion and built-up toxins in the pores. 

Choose the right cleanser.


 While cleansing several times a day is important, just any cleanser won’t do. When you choose a cleanser, make sure it’s not too drying, especially in the winter, or carries too much oil, especially in the summer. Soaps and other stringent cleansers can suck the healthy oils out of your skin, actually causing your skin to produce even more oil than normal to compensate. Avoid these at all costs, and choose a milder alternative. Try to find good oil-free or essential oil-based products that will leave your face clean and refreshed, not tight, dry, or with an oily residue.

Exfoliate.


 Regardless of your skin type, it’s important to exfoliate at least one or two times per week. This aids the skin renewal process, and improves the elasticity of the skin, in turn making the skin appear younger, clearer, and healthier. Exfoliating is key to maintaining that “youthful glow” in your skin!

Limit shower time.


 Hot water and long showers or baths remove oils from your skin, drying it out and stripping it of collagen and elastins. Limit your bath and shower time and always use warm, not hot, water. When drying off following a shower, it’s important to gently pat or blot your skin dry with a towel, never rub, to ensure that some moisture remains on your skin.
Incorporating these simple steps into your daily routine can have
drastic effects.
